Copywriting

Dear Professional:

Thanks for your interest in my copywriting services.

Now, maybe you asked for this information kit out of curiosity.  Some folks do–especially those who have never hired a freelance copywriter before.

But more likely you need a good business-to-business copywriter–someone who combines writing skill and sales ability with technical know-how and product knowledge.

Whatever your reason for calling or writing, you want to know more about a writer before you hire him.  If we were chatting face-to-face, you'd ask me questions.  Let me try to answer a few of those questions right here.

“What are your qualifications?”

As a freelancer, I’ve written copy for dozens of nonprofits, marketing agencies, online marketers, entrepreneurs, information publishers, and even other copywriters. I’ve written four e-books, co-authored two print books, and have ghost written a third.

I’ve written copy for construction, background checking firms, job outsourcing services, charitable organizations, natural health, information products, and many other areas. I also wrote articles for The Gwinnett Business Journal, and I am the author of four e-books.

Most important to you, I’m a business-to-business and direct-response copy specialist.

“Do You have experience in my field?”

While I may not have a sample of the same exact product or service you’re offering, chances are if you sell to other businesses, consumers, or through direct response in print or online, I already have the experience you need.  Direct response writing isn’t that different from one product or service to the next, and the same skills are needed to effectively sell whatever you’re offering.  On the other hand, Websites have a unique set of challenges, and I am skilled at writing them as well.

"What types of writing do you do?"

I can do just about anything, but I specialize in corporate communications and marketing writing: annual reports, white papers, press releases, brochures, books, trade articles, and Web copy.  I have also written magazine articles, reviews, and columns.  But I am just as capable of handling online and print direct mail, landing pages, and email blasts.

Basically, I specialize in writing clear, persuasive copy about a wide range of business products and services, in your unique voice, for any audience.

“What does it cost to hire you for a project?”

For any copywriting assignment—a press release, annual report, sales letter, an ad, a brochure—just call me at (678) 617-2383, let me know what you need, and I’ll quote you a price.

“Do you guarantee your work?”

While I can’t predict how many responses my ad, mailer, or literature package will pull for you, I can guarantee your satisfaction with the copy you receive from me.

“How long will it take you to write my copy?”

Ideally I like to have 2–3 weeks to work on your copy. That gives me the time to polish, edit and revise until I'm happy with every word.  It also gives me time to do any necessary research, i.e, reading past materials, and interviewing experts.

However, I realize you can’t always wait that long. So if the job is a rush, just indicate the date by which you must receive the copy on the order form. If I take on the job, I guarantee that you will have the copy on your desk by this deadline date—or sooner.

“What happens if we want you to revise the copy?”

Just tell me what changes you want to make and I’ll make them—fast. There is NO CHARGE for rewriting. Revisions are included in the flat fee we’ve agreed to for the assignment provided they are assigned within 30 days of your receipt of the copy and are not based on a change in the assignment after copy has been submitted.

In other words, if you are not 100% satisfied with your copy, I’ll rewrite it until you are . . . at my expense.

“How do I order copy from you?”

That’s easy!  First, just tell me what you need and what you need it to do.  Then send me your brochure, catalog, or any other literature which will give me the background information I need to write your copy. Don’t worry about organizing anything—I'll do that. If I have any questions ... and I will ... I’ll pick up the phone and ask.

Once you give me the go-ahead, I’ll send you a Letter of Agreement describing the details of the assignment.  Just sign it and send it back, and I’ll write the assignment for you.  You will receive your copy on or before the deadline date, and it will be exactly like you want it, guaranteed.

Dozens of people and firms—including Early to Rise, Contrarian Profits, author Jill Lublin, copywriters Bob Bly and Peter Fogel, Agito Consulting, Be Someone, Inc., BNI, Farmhouse Graphics, Launch Day LLC, The Mythic Imagination Institute, NextGen Admin, Southlan Films, CareerOyster and Success Stream Sales and Marketing Solutions—have found my copy ideal for promoting business-to-business and business-to-consumer products and services, and direct-response offers.  These clients have gladly trusted me with their sales letters, press releases, newsletters, and Web copy.  And several of them hire me again and again.

So... why not try my service for your next sales letter, direct mail package, feature article, press release, ad, or brochure? I promise you’ll be delighted with the results.

So, how can I help you today?

 Yours,

James Palmer
